ok I always liked single coils over humbuckers. Guess that's cause I own an old strat.Just listened to that Sunshine of your love lesson by Arthur and I was blown away by the sound he got out of those humbuckers!!!Thinking of getting one and putting it in the bridge position on my strat.Anyone have a strat with a humbucker? Would actually like to get a second set up with 2 single coils and one humbucker so I could just change back and forth for the different sound(would be cheaper than getting another guitar). What do you think?

Well, I don't play a strat. I play a 335. I love the humbuckers. With a Strat I could only guess that you would get some nice extra tones in there with a humbucker.

You might look into the seymour duncan JB model for bridge position! Awesome pickup!! It's a single coil sized humbucker. JB means "Jeff Beck" I think the pickups first came about for his guitars. They have a very rich full tone with nice mids, much like a full size humbucker would sound. They can also be wired so you can split the coil if you'd still like to access the single coil bridge sound.

That's great. I was wondering if I got a humbucker that it wouldn't fit in the single coil shape in the guitar body.I didn't want to route the body of my strat to fit it, but if the JB pickup is single coil size that should be perfect. Will definetly check that out ASAP.Can't go wrong with a Jeff Beck sounding pickup. Thanks for the help

well i put a humbucker in my strat and it lasted about 3 minutes before i removed it and appoligized to my guitar.I will never disgrace it ever again by not appreciating the sound of single coil pickups.Sorry but a strat is a single coil guitar whose sound just cannot be duplicated and should never be messed with by installing a humbucker.( just my opinion, but why f**k with perfection?)
